Gregory W. Farmer and Kara D. Garner, A love story.

Greg and I met in 2008 , at work of all places. It was a fast paced restaurant in the heart of Atlanta, where he was a struggling waiter and a brilliant student at Georgia State University and I a brilliant hostess and a struggling Theatre graduate. One day Greg asked me if I wanted to go with him to see the play: Song of the Dead: A Zombie Musical. Winning me over immediately with my love for the stage I accepted and we went on our first date. From there our loves have grown for music, art, skydiving, travel, whitewater rafting and throwing parties that would be talked about for years to come. In 2010, when Greg told me that he wanted to serve in the U.S. Army I not only supported him one hundred percent but I was proud to stand by him through this journey. In basic training we exchanged love letters as often as possible and when he moved on to OCS to become an Officer he asked me to be his wife. So we set out to throw our biggest party yet, our wedding, and it will be talked about for years to come.

As most things happen in the Army, Greg and I found out in September that they were moving him to Kentucky in November of 2010. We didn't want to live apart from each other any longer than we had to so while he finished up Officer Candidate School I put together our intimate family wedding on his childhood stomping grounds in the North Georgia Mountains. A small wedding of thirty-five, set in front of a white country house and a tiny vineyard made up the picturesque wedding of my dreams. We exchanged vows in front of a vintage barn decorated with hand made pennants, ate and drank on tables covered with burlap and beautiful settings of roses and ranunculus, danced under strands of carnival lights and finished the evening off with an impressive display of fireworks. It was easily the loveliest and happiest night of our lives!

Finding the time to take off for a honeymoon while your fiance/husband is serving in the U.S. Army is trying at best. There are a lot of hoops to jump through and paperwork to face but at long last we have found some time! We have chosen a beautiful resort in the Dominican Republic, Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana and we can not wait to take some much needed time away from the world to relax!

Greg and I are so excited to go on our Honeymoon! Thank you so much for all of the love and support that you have given us!
