We would have never thought this was going to happen. We met in 2004, while I was working at a mall in Jonesboro, GA (20 mins outside of Atlanta), called Southlake. I was helping a customer and caught a glimpse at this well dressed and groomed guy. I remember compliment him on his beard. He said thanks and that was it...so I thought! After he had completed his shopping, he stopped back and asked for my number. You know I had to give it to him. I smiled for the rest of that day. As a matter of fact, I am smiling while telling you all. "HE CALLED", I thought to myself. He asked what I had planned and if I wanted to go shoot pool. I said yes. What he did not know was that I was pretty good at it. Once we got there, he wanted to make a friendly bet. You know "I won" and someone had a long cold drive home. We started hanging out even more and his favorite place to eat was Houston. So I am guessing you all know where we ate most of the time.
Months passed by and I received a phone from a company I interviewed with back in Nov 2003. They offer me a position. I just knew that what decision I made that Rick would be cool with it. So, I accept since working at the shoe was not an option since I went to school to be an engineer. What I did not tell you, the company was in IL. I did not know how things were going to go for us. We had 1 month left to spend time together and it was going so well, that I asked Rick to move to IL after I got settled. Well, I did not get the response I wanted. He stated that he could not move nor could handle a long distance relationship. So we stopped talking.
I moved back home a year and half later (late 2005) and stayed with my parent for about 6 months and then brought a home in Stockbridge (5 mins from Southlake). I never ran into, seen, or heard from Rick during this time. For about year and half I was I would go JR Crickets restaurant to shoot pool and eat quite often since I moved to Stockbridge. One Thursday night after bowling, I was meting someone to go to the movies. I went to my car to get my stick and heard someone say, "Hey, did you use to live in IL?" I was thinking to myself who is this that know my info?? Then he asked if I use to work at Southlake. Now, I this was too much! I turn and saw that it was Rick. The first thing he said was, " I have been waiting on this day forever to apologize for not giving you what you wanted...a relationship". He went on to say I promised myself that if I saw you again, “I would never let you go". Keep in mind that I was on a date. He asked for my number again, I had to give it to him “HE CALLED”....
