It all started on a day that was filled with frustration and desperation. You see, each day as I walked home from Canyon Springs HS this fellow classmate would make sure she walked home with me. If I rushed out of my last class to try to get a head start, the girl would run down the hill to catch up with me. If I stayed a very long time after school with my friends, the girl would wait right behind me until I was ready to go. Now, I know what you're thinking, "why was Tylisha being so mean and trying so hard to avoid the girl who obviously wanted to be her friend?" Well this girl was NOT normal, in fact she had stalker like tendencies. She knew everything there was to know about me and ALL of my friends. Then the girl would start to bad mouth my friends, trying to turn me against them, mind you, she's never once spoken to any of my friends! So one day as the girl and I walked home I simply realized I couldn't take it anymore!! I looked back at the trail of kids behind me who were also walking home from school. In the crowd I seen Corey Quarshie, a guy in school who I never paid any mind to, but I knew who he was. The only thing I really knew about him from other people was that he was on the schools basketball team and that he was a really good player, but I had never spoken a word to him. So at this time I look over at the girl walking next to me whose going on and on about my friends and their business and decide to escape. So I tell her, "Hey, my friend is back there, I'm going to go say say hi really fast and I'll catch right back up to you." The girl reluctantly says, "Okay, but hurry back!" So I walk back to Corey who is with one of his friends, and I do something quite pathetic. I walked up to him and said, "Hey, I know you don't know me, and I don't know you, but can you PLEASE pretend to be my friend?!?!?" He looked at me as if I were crazy, he kind of chuckled and then agreed. Of course after I explained the story he probably realized I wasn't as crazy as I had first seemed! (maybe). So from there the conversation went wonderfully, the walks became more frequent, and the bond and friendship grew stronger until one day we became high school sweethearts. The even crazier thing is, I never noticed the stalker girl again, it was as if God used her to have me and Corey meet and once it was done she was no longer needed. Sometimes God thinks he's funny! :0)
We would just like to thank all of our family and friends for being a part of our lives and for always being here for us. We are looking forward to spending one of the most important days of our lives with you! We know how busy and hectic life can be so we appreciate you taking the time to be there with us and to be apart of the memories we will have forever. If you were able to contribute to our honeymoon through this website we just want to say THANK YOU!! As most of you know we are trying to pay for a wedding, honeymoon, and a new home all at once, so it can be pretty overwhelming. We have been purchasing home items throughout the years which is why we are requesting cash/contributions instead of gifts for the home. Well, again thank you, and we are so excited and can't wait to see all of you there!!!
