Simply sweet- we found one another online. "plenty of fish" we discovered how truly compatible we are- our love for family and music and life. We bonded quickly and steadfastly to one another as we are keenly aware of the fleeting nature of time. In the past two years together, we've developed a partnership established on open, honest communication and trust; desire to grow old and grey together; fishing in our favorite spot, sippin a lil' sumpin' sumpin, sharing our laughter and sometimes tears. Best friends? Why yes we are.
Our ceremony begins at 1 PM. Please remember this is truly a family affair and our thanks to you in advance for all the hands that will be chipping in.
The ceremony is an interfaith celebration of who we are individually and who we are becoming as a couple. We both deeply honor our individual faiths and celebrate the melding of our spiritual lives.
A part of the ceremony involves our fathers' reading blessings in Hebrew and English- we are truly honored to have Elvin (bruce's dad) & George (karen's dad) take part in our wedding in such a meaningful way.
Also- after the ceremony there is a tradition in the Jewish wedding ceremony called Yichud when will be spending a few quiet moments together to savor the spiritual significance of this day, in the Jewish tradition of Yichud. Then, after a few minutes, we will rejoin our guests.
We look forward to sharing this incredibly special day with you all and are blessed to have such beautiful people in our lives.
Our reception will begin after the family pictures have been taken- but really, you'll all be witnesses to the whole scene, as our teensy yard affords only so much space! During the photo shoot, the bar will be open for your pleasure, just save some for us!
Food will be ready after the photos; nothing super fancy, just some grub!
