Gigi Sharp & Rev. Don Robinson

Our Story

Gigi and I first met 10 years ago. I met her while attending a function at Macedonia Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. I was married at the time and Gigi was engaged to an associate minister at that church. I was impressed with how she doted on her four daughters at the time and the glow in her smile and face. I remember saying in my spirit that it was an honor to see a young couple so in love.

Fast forward 10 years later and to a worship conference in Dallas, Texas. I saw Gigi at a distance. She still looked the same. I was looking for her husband. I didn't approach her at first because I wasn't sure if it was really her. I later touched her shoulder and stated, "hello, do you remember meeting me in San Antonio some years ago?"

By the look on her face, I felt she was saying to herself, "not again. . . another man hitting on me." I apologized profusely and told her where we first met. Her mouth fell open! She said, "you remember me from that long ago?" I asked her about her husband and her head fell. She didn't share the story at the time, but simply said, "things didn't work out." She looked around for my spouse and I told her the same happened with me. We talked for about an hour and exchanged numbers. My heart must have stopped several times during our conversation. She was SO warm, energetic, laughed at my corny jokes and was so sincere!

It was truly a meeting blessed by God. We had SO much in common! We talked for hours and had many of the same life experiences. We shared similiar passions, life's goals and desires and really, really shared our hearts and spirits. Life has been so wonderful since that time. I now realize the saying, 'life is not about looking for the pot of gold, but enjoying the beauty of the rainbow.' I am truly a blessed man.
