Sherry is the daughter of Maurice and Ethel Carlson, she was born in Cincinnatti, OH, but has lived most of her life in Rhode Island. Her daughter Evelyn, and sons Neil and Sean, and her parents all continue to reside in Rhode Island.
We currently make our home together in Providence, RI.
Our Wedding
Our wedding ceremony is being held at Hammond Castle, a replica of a medieval castle in Gloucester, MA. Hammond Castle is a fully functioning museum and contains irreplaceable artifacts in its collection and on display and as such may not be an ideal environment for energetic younger children. While we welcome and love all our friends and family, we ask that you please keep this in mind when planning to attend.
We have decided on a medieval themed wedding, in full period attire. The wearing of period attire by our guests is strongly encouraged to enhance the fun atmosphere of our medieval wedding, but is not required. While many of our friends frequent the "renaissance faire" circuit, and already have period attire. If you simply haven't got a thing to wear to a medieval wedding, we recommend Your Dressmaker, Ltd Co as they are very affordable, and will custom make any of their outfits to your exact measurements and color choices. We also highly recommend Samantha's Costumes at 177 Essex St. in Salem, MA. They are also very affordable, very nice to deal with, and carry a good selection of medieval period costumes. They provided the groom's doublet which you'll see at the wedding. Our wedding planners, Swords, Songs and More also can provide hand made period costuming. They do beautiful work, and made the bride's custom cloak which you'll see at the wedding. You may also consider going to a rennaisance faire, such as the Sterling Renaissance Festival which is held in 2011 from July 9th to August 21st located just 45 minutes outside of Syracuse, NY where any of the numerous merchants would be happy to outfit you. Or check Renaissance Magazine for the location and dates of a renaissance faire or festival near you. Your costume need not be elaborate to fit in with our theme, from stately courtiers and noble knights to peasant wenches and viking pillagers, if you'd see it worn by someone at the Rennaisance Faire, then its perfectly fine to wear it to our wedding. Yes, wearing of weaponry is permitted. We want all our guests to have fun at our celebration, and feel that getting into the spirit of the theme will truly enhance your experience at our wedding.
Our Reception
His Majesty The King has decreed that feasting and merriment are to follow in the "Great Hall" of the castle. If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know so that we can alert the caterer.
In keeping with the medieval theme, please be aware that they didn't have utensils in medieval times (except maybe eating daggers), nor will we. If you've ever been to The Medieval Manor Theatre-Restaurant in Boston, this should give you a pretty good idea what to expect.
The ceremony officiant, and additional "theme" support and entertainment will be provided by Swords, Songs and More, a local medieval theme performance troupe.
Our wedding cake is being supplied by Konditor Meister.
The quartered coat of arms, a combination of historical Tetreault and Carlson coats of arms to the left was created by www.4crests.com

Directions:
Drive North on Route 128 until you reach exit 14. At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Route 133 toward Gloucester. Stay on route 133 until the end of that highway. With the harbor in front of you take another right onto Route 127 South (Western Avenue). About a mile and a half down Route 127 south look for a left hand turn marked Hesperus Avenue.
You can see the green street sign about a third of the way up a telephone pole on your left, but more importantly there is a small blue sign on a that pole which says "Hammond Castle". Turn left at these signs and the Castle Parking Lot is three quarters of a mile down Hesperus also on the left. Drive to the very end of the parking lot where you will see the entrance. Turn left very carefully as it is a blind turn for traffic coming toward you. Park and walk to the East end of the parking lot and walk down the stairs. The castle itself is straight ahead of you.
Gloucester, MA is on the Commuter Rail out of Boston's North Station on the Newburyport/Rockport Line. The last train out of Boston that will get you to Gloucester on time for the ceremony leaves Boston at 2:20pm, arriving in Gloucester at 3:21pm, and the last train back to Boston leaves Gloucester at 10:53pm so please plan accordingly if travelling on the T. We will provide transportation from the Gloucester T station to the castle. Just be sure to let us know if you'll be arriving by this method.
A Special Message From Us
At this stage in our lives, we pretty much have all we need where traditional wedding gift items are concerned, but of course well wishers may still want to get us a wedding gift, but in our case, because we don't need any of the traditional wedding gift items, we know finding the right gift could prove difficult, and cash gifts, while welcome, can feel impersonal for the giver. With this in mind, we have setup a travel gift registry to help us pre-plan our honeymoon trip. This way those who wish to can get us a wedding gift that we truly want, and can choose something much more personal. To make it easy for well wishers to purchase gifts within their individual budgets, we have broken down the cost of all gifts in our registry into $20 fractions, so, for example, if our airfare costs $2,000 we wouldn't expect anyone to buy our full airfare as a wedding gift, but with the $20 fractions, you can give $20 increments towards our airfare, so if you wanted to give $100 towards our airfare, you could purchase a quantity of 5 at $20 each. The number shown as "quantity requested" X $20 is the full cost of the gift, so a gift showing a "quantity requested" of 5 means the full cost of the gift is $100. If you want to get us the complete gift, you simply purchase the full quantity requested. This way one can spend as much, or as little as they want, or one can purchase a portion of several different items if they choose, or can even break down the cost of purchasing a larger gift over several weeks or months. To access the gift registry, simply Click Here or click the "Our Registry" link at the top of the page. Of course, ultimately, the best gift we can receive is your presence at the celebration of our wedding. We look forward to you joining us.
